From a late addition to the Venice competition to a record ovation and the Special Jury Prize.
Venice: Special Jury Prize
NAZA had its world premiere in the main competition of the 83rd Venice International Film Festival on 10 September 2026, competing for the Golden Lion. It was the only documentary in the competition, added on 24 August after the festival considered safety concerns around its screening.
It received an ovation of about 25 minutes, the longest in the festival’s history, and won the Special Jury Prize at the closing ceremony on 12 September.

The directors’ previous film
No Other Land (2024), co-directed by Abraham and Szor with Basel Adra and Hamdan Ballal, won the Berlinale Documentary Award and the Panorama Audience Award, and the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature.
