On Rotten Tomatoes, NAZA holds an approval rating of 100 percent based on 36 reviews, with an average rating of 9.0 out of 10. On Metacritic it has a score of 93 out of 100 based on 20 critics, which the site classifies as "universal acclaim" (figures as of late September 2026).

A record ovation
At its world premiere in Venice on 10 September 2026, NAZA received a standing ovation of about 25 minutes, reported as the longest in the festival’s history. It was the only documentary in the main competition, and won the Special Jury Prize.
Number one at the box office
Released in Italy in late September 2026, NAZA grossed around €1.1 million in its first two days and topped the Italian box office, ahead of the re-release Avengers: Endgame – Encore. Screenings planned for three days were extended.
